A cell-based WLAN cannot deliver full 802.11n performance in the 2.4 GHz Wi-FI band. By contrast, Extricom's architecture inherently has no requirement for cell-planning. A single set of APs enables deployment of multiple high-data-rate Channel Blankets, including the option of creating "pure" 802.11n Channel Blankets.
The Channel Blanket architecture also offers the unique ability to physically separate 802.11n traffic from 802.11b/g traffic. As a result, Extricom is the only technology capable of supporting full-performance 802.11n clients and permanent co-existence with full-performance 802.11b/g clients, all in the same AP deployment. This results in up to 7x higher throughput.
