Award Recognizes Extricom's Wireless LAN System for its Technology, Value and Excellence

New York, NY, June 5, 2006 – Extricom, a designer and manufacturer of high-performance wireless LAN infrastructure solutions for the enterprise, today announced that the company has been selected as a Top 100 Vendor by IT Week, an all digital newsweekly for IT professionals. The list recognizes the top 100 vendors who have demonstrated quality and excellence in their respective fields based on the opinion of IT Week editors, readers, and independent research.

"We are honored that IT Week has recognized the breakthrough innovation of our wireless technology, which we believe has raised the bar for enterprise Wi-Fi solutions," said Gideon Rottem, CEO and co-founder of Extricom. "While businesses are eager for the benefits of wireless, they are also often hesitant about making the transition, when faced with the performance trade-offs and complexity of traditional solutions. This award not only highlights the unique value of our technology in overcoming these obstacles, but also validates our vision of bringing the wired experience to the wireless world through the pioneering Extricom WLAN System."

The inaugural edition of IT Week's annual Top 100 Vendors list appears in the June 5, 2006 issue.

Extricom's patented Interference-Free™ WLAN system represents the next generation of enterprise Wi-Fi, with a fundamental shift in architecture from "cell-planning" to a "channel blanket" topology. The technology creates extended zones of coverage for every available radio channel, by using each channel at every access point that is controlled by the switch, without incurring the co-channel interference that otherwise afflicts traditional WLAN systems. Within each channel blanket there is seamless and zero-latency mobility, robust, wire-like client connections, and the ability to design for a guaranteed and predictable level of service for all users, and all of this is achieved without the iterative and costly RF cell-planning of traditional WLAN. The result is a high-performance yet simple solution for powering the enterprise triple play.
